Wascomat Equipment Depot Gives Away Compass Washer!

Wascomat Equipment Depot LLC (W.E.D.) recently held open house at its two Long Island locations. The two-day event took place in Plainview and Maspeth, and generated a large amount of interest in the state-of-the-art Compass Control Wascomat washers. Over 60 attendees took advantage of special one-day pricing on parts and equipment, while having the opportunity to speak to industry leaders and participate in service and industry seminars.

“With this show, we basically wanted to get the word out that we are your New York authorized Wascomat Dealer, and that we are here to offer customers the most energy efficient laundry equipment on the market,” states Vice President of Operations Michael London.

W.E.D. used direct mailing, industry publication advertising, and telemarketing to draw people in to attend. The present economic state did not deter attendance and machine sales. “With the current state of the economy, customers were very interested in saving money by replacing their older equipment with new, energy efficient models,” states Michael.

 All attendees were able to register to win a brand new SU620CC Washer featuring Compass Control.  The winner of the washer was Jimmy Cheng, owner of Farmingdale Laundromat, located in downtown Farmingdale on Long Island. After a lot of advice and recommendations by friends who were in the laundry business, Jimmy turned a strip mall into a laundromat in 1992. Aside from 20 Generation 4 washers, 50 Generation 5 washers, and 15 Wascomat dryers, Farmingdale Laundromat is equipped with TVs and computers for customers to enjoy. “The key to running a successful laundromat is keeping it clean and having durable machines that you don’t have to worry about repairing and replacing,” shares Jimmy. “Wascomats are the perfect machines for my store and I can’t wait to try the new Compass washer!” 

W.E.D. was very pleased with the number of people that showed up for their event. “Based on the turnout, I would have to say that our expectations were exceeded and we definitely accomplished our goal,” states Michael London. “We were also very excited about the enthusiasm from attendees – they were very interested in learning about Compass Control and all we had to offer. Next time, we would like to have some additional industry manufacturers come in and exhibit their products.” Wascomat Equipment Depot is planning its next open house event for the Spring.
